For 17 years Pakistani wrongly held in Guantanamo- The world has forgotten me
Ahmed Rabbani was recently cleared for release from the infamous detention camp run by the CIA.
Mohammed Ahmed Ghulam Rabbani said I am officially a prisoner of war, though the only battle I ever fought back home, as a taxi driver in Karachi, was the rush hour traffic. These words are from an op-ed published in the Los Angeles Times. Rabbani is a Pakistani citizen who has been imprisoned by the United States military since 2004 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Rabbani was unanimously cleared for release by the Periodic Review Board of Guantanamo on Friday 22nd October according to a press release by Reprieve which is a London-based non-profit organization of lawyers and investigators who represent victims of human rights violations.
