First Indian killed in Turkey's earthquake, body found in hotel debris

Vijay's elder brother Arun had told that Vijay used to work in a company named Oxy Plant India Pvt Ltd in Bangalore and had gone to Turkey on February 22 for some work of the company. As soon as he got the news of the earthquake, he called his brother's phone but the bell kept ringing and no one picked it up.

The death toll in Turkey's terrible earthquake is unstoppable. The death toll from the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has crossed 24,000. At the same time, there is news of the death of an Indian in this earthquake. It is being told that Vijay Kumar, a resident of Uttarakhand, was working in Bengaluru, who went to Turkey on a business trip only last month. A person from Uttarakhand was missing since the devastating earthquake in Turkey on 6th February. After this, the death of Vijay of Uttarakhand has been confirmed.

Embassy of India, Ankara tweeted, "The body of Vijay Kumar, an Indian national missing in Turkey since the February 6 earthquake, has been found and identified among the debris of a hotel in Malatya. He was on a business trip." . Our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We are making arrangements for his mortal remains to reach his family at the earliest."

Vijay Kumar Gaur, 36, was a resident of Padampur in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. Two days ago, the family had told that the hotel where he was staying was also destroyed in the earthquake that occurred at 4 am on February 6 and since then he could not be contacted. His family members were upset due to Vijay's disappearance. He appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Turkey through the district administration to find him.
