First Arrest in Sully Deals: Who is the 'mastermind' Omkareshwar Thakur?

Six months after the Sulli Deals app was created on Github, the Delhi Police on January 9 arrested a 26-year-old youth, identified as Omkareshwar Thakur, from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. According to Delhi Police, Omkareshwar Thakur had created the Sully Deals app and he is the "mastermind" behind it. However, the family says that Omkareshwar is innocent and is being framed.

Omkareshwar Thakur was arrested by the Special Cell, Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) team of Delhi Police from New York City township of Indore. Thakur was studying BCA from IPS Academy.

Delhi Police IFSO Deputy Commissioner of Police KPS Malhotra said that "Om Thakur has been arrested from Indore. He is the main mastermind of the Sully Deal app case."

On the other hand the family of the accused says that he is being framed. Talking to the media, the accused's father Akhilesh Thakur said that "he passed BCA in 2018 and after that he is doing web designing from home. We have never heard or seen any wrong thing about his behavior. My younger The son has also done his B.Tech and is working in TCS, Indore. I think he is being framed.”
