According to the police, a fire was reported in the slums near Metro Pillar No. 12 located in Gokalpur village at around 1 pm. At the time of the fire, people were sleeping in their shanties, seeing that the fire started spreading one after the other. There was chaos, as people ran out of the slums, some people got caught in the fire. Several teams of police and fire brigade reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after about two and a half hours of effort.
