President Moon Jae-in had also issued a warning regarding this, after which the capacity of the power plant was reduced by 50% and electric lines were cut. According to a National Fire Agency official, hundreds of firefighters were deployed at the plant, after which the fire was brought under control.
More than 2,000 firefighters and soldiers along with 51 helicopters and 273 vehicles have been deployed to control the fire. Hundreds of firefighters fought overnight to stop the fire from spreading at the liquefied natural gas (LNG) manufacturing facility in Samcheok.
