There has been a new explosion in the politics of Punjab. The Channi government has registered a case against Akali leader and former minister Bikram Majithia at midnight. The Bureau of Investigation (BOI) has registered a case at the State Crime Police Station in Mohali. There were constant allegations against Majithia regarding the drugs case. This case has been registered under section 25/27A/29 of NDPS Act.
Seeing the silence of the Punjab government, it seems that Majithia's arrest can happen at any time. However, the police have not said anything in the matter so far. Even the FIR registered against Majithia has not been made public.
Punjab Congress chief Navjot Sidhu were claiming that Majithia's name is there in the Special Task Force (STF) report. This report was prepared under the leadership of ADGP Harpreet Sidhu. Sidhu was constantly talking about action against him. For this reason, four days ago, after removing Iqbalpreet Sahota, the Punjab government made Siddharth Chattopadhyay the acting DGP.
