According to a BJP spokesman, it was an attempt by anti-social elements to disrupt the district's peace and unity.

Farmers tear down Haryana BJP's office stone two hours later

On Sunday morning, a group of farmers, including women, demolished the foundation stone of the BJP district office, which had been set by the party's state president, Om Prakash Dhankar, on the Rewari road, Jhajjar.

The program was supposed to start at 10 a.m., but the BJP leaders arrived considerably earlier, fearing opposition from farmers who are opposing the BJP-JJP officials' functions as per the SamyuktKisanMorcha's orders. One of the demonstrators, Amit, said, "We took the foundation stone to record our displeasure.”

Protesters with black flags arrived at the site two hours after the foundation-laying ceremony and uprooted the foundation blocks. They also chanted anti-Dhankar, anti-BJP, and anti-JJP chants. The group traveled here from the Dhansa border (Delhi), where farmers from adjacent villages have been holding a dharna against the three farm regulations for several months.

A farmers' group declared yesterday, on the 200th day of their agitation, that the protest against three controversial farm regulations, which began last year, will continue.Thousands of farmers, largely from Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh, began protesting in November at three distinct Delhi border posts, demanding that these regulations be repealed.

Social activists, political parties, and communities all supported the rallies at the Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur borders. On June 11, protesting farmer unions stated that on June 26 they will stage sit-ins at governor mansions across the country. The day will also mark the end of a seven-month struggle organized by farmers against new agriculturalmarketing legislation.
