Leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), Rakesh Tikait burst into tears late evening on January 28 while talking to television journalists and accused the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party of sending its people to attack farmers.
Tikait was at the Delhi-UP border when the state government along with the Centre took a decision to get the whole area vacated and cleaned.
Heavy paramilitary and police forces were deployed at the border.
Meanwhile, Tikait while speaking to reporters burst into tears and said, “They want to destroy farmers. I will not let them destroy the farmers of this country. This is my responsibility. The whole BJP party is after farmers to destroy them.”
He attacked the three farms' laws and said that these acts have to go at any cost.
“If the three farm acts will not be taken back, I will commit suicide,” Tikait threatened.
He added, “I will not leave this place. The government is trying to kill my farmers. The BJP is conspiring to kill the farmers.”
Tikait accused that the ruling BJP party’s legislators are here with 300 people to beat farmers and force them to leave the place.
He said, “BJP has sent its 300 supporters. They have come with sticks and bullets to kill the farmers. The police administration is here with 2000 police force. This is an atrocity on the farmers. The government is backstabbing the farmers.”
After his outburst, the presence of farmers has continued to swell and the support for their cause has grown up further.
