Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that farm laws are in accordance with the demands of the farmers’ bodies and the opposition parties.
While launching many developmental projects in the Kutch region in Gujarat, PM Modi said that farmers who are protesting are being misled about these reforms.
Earlier, the government officials and many BJP leaders have alleged earlier that opposition parties are spreading false and misleading information among farmers about the benefits of the farm laws. They allege that the protesting farmers are playing into the hands of the opposition parties.
“The Government of India is always committed to farmer welfare and we will keep assuring the farmers, addressing their concerns,” Prime Minister Modi said ensuring the government is aware of farmers’ problem and the legal reforms have been made keeping that in mind.
His statements also reflect the government’s firms stand on the three farm laws against which many farmers’ bodies have been protesting in the country.
It also suggests that the agitation will continue for a longer period as the farmers hold the contrary view and they don’t want to relent.
They believe that the farm laws are against their interest and so the government should withdraw these.
While inaugurating a desalination plant, a hybrid renewable energy park, and a fully automated milk processing and packing plant, PM Modi praised the efforts of farmers of the Kutch area for keeping themselves relevant with the changing time.
Along with Prime Minister Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat and many other senior officials were also present at the occasion.
