Daler Mehndi was accused of pigeon hopping. In this, in 2003, a person named Bakshi Singh lodged a complaint with the Patiala Sadar police station, alleging that Diler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Mehndi had taken Rs 13 lakh from him. This money was taken to send him from India to Canada. However, neither Daler sent him to Canada nor his money was returned. After this the matter reached the police.
