Ex-JP Morgan Employee Receives ₹292 Crore Because Of Brain Damage After Glass Door Shatters

Ex-JP Morgan Employee Receives ₹292 Crore Because Of Brain Damage: In 2015, while she was having a physical therapy appointment, a glass door in a building in New York City shattered on her, leaving her with permanent brain damage. Former Morgan employee won $35 million (about $292 crore) in Manhattan court.
According to the report, Meghan Brown, 36, won a verdict after a three-week trial. After walking through the 7.5-foot-tall lobby door after a physical therapy appointment in the building, the JP Morgan employee almost exploded on the 7.5-foot-tall door, which has gone viral on social media.
“I do remember seeing glass, like, everywhere, in the lobby, near me," she told the Manhattan Supreme Court.
According to Brown, she does not remember the exact moment the door shattered on her, but she remembers being on the floor with glass all around her and people helping her.

Due to a traumatic brain injury sustained at 271 Madison Avenue, Brown's promising career in investment banking came to an end.
According to Brown, she was unable to carry out daily tasks, lost her job as a high-level analyst at JP Morgan, and even lost her love life as a result of the injuries. In addition to losing her job, Brown said that her senses of smell and taste were adversely affected by the incident. She also said that she has completely lost her Spanish skills, a language she was once fluent in.
After being diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Brown's executive functions have slowed down, and her memory, focus, and vocabulary have all been affected.
There was a crack in the glass door on the building, which had shatter twice previously - in 2010 and 2014.
"Well, one of the biggest problems I have with my brain is that I can't trust it," Brown told the New York Post during her emotional testimony.
“She keeps trying but just can’t perform," her lawyer said.
Brown returned to JP Morgan in 2021 but her performance wasn't the same, which lead to her termination. She briefly worked for a cryptocurrency company but was dismissed as well.
