”‘Even Pakistan, Masood Azhar Didn’t Use This Word’: BJP Hits Back at Rahul Gandhi’s Remark on PM Modi”
The Congress on Wednesday said it is wrong to think that "Narendra Modi is India and India is Narendra Modi", as it slammed the BJP for its criticism of Rahul Gandhi over his dig at the prime minister and doubled down on the 'Narendra-surrender' jibe.

”‘Even Pakistan, Masood Azhar Didn’t Use This Word’: The Congress on Wednesday said it is wrong to think that "Narendra Modi is India and India is Narendra Modi", as it slammed the BJP for its criticism of Rahul Gandhi over his dig at the prime minister and doubled down on the 'Narendra-surrender' jibe.
Congress' media and publicity department head Pawan Khera claimed that Gandhi's "Narender...surrender" remarks encapsulated how the prime minister has time and again "surrendered India's national interests, in situations, where it was required to show the requisite deft and 'vishwaguru' status.
"The BJP people were making a film for their hero for the last 11 years -- 'Muqaddar Ka Sikandar'. But when the film was ready, it turned out to be 'Narender Ka Surrender'. Actually, there is no injection of bravery, but it is in-built in the character of a person. The history of BJP-RSS people has been of cowardice," he alleged while addressing a press conference at the Congress' Indira Gandhi Bhawan headquarters here.
“By making extremely cheap, low-level statements, the self-proclaimed, self-styled, supreme leader, the leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, is telling the world that even after becoming the LoP, he lacks the seriousness and maturity that the post requires," Trivedi said.

“How Rahul Gandhi compared our armed forces’ valour and Army officers’ brief on the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ with surrender, shows how sick and dangerous his mentality has become," he added.
The BJP MP further accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting the country’s self-respect, and said, “There’s a saying in Hindi – ‘Naya mullah zyada pyaaz khaata hai’, but here, ‘gair mullah iss kadar pyaaz khaane mein laga hai’, that he does not even realise how badly he is insulting India’s self-respect and the Indian Army’s valour."
"Till now, Congress leaders were making headlines in the Pakistani media, their statements were being quoted in Pakistan's parliament, and Rahul Gandhi's statements also made their place in Pakistan's dossier. But for the first time, Rahul Gandhi has said something which even the Army Chief of Pakistan has not said, nor has any terrorist organisation of Pakistan. Even Masood Azhar or Hafiz Saeed have not said such a thing. None of them said that India surrendered," he added.
Trivedi posed a sharp question to Gandhi, asking, "Does he want to get one step ahead of these people? Till now, he was giving cover fire to the people of Pakistan, the Pakistani Army and terrorist organisations. Is he trying to become their leader now?"
"The level of intelligence and wisdom of someone who sees receiving less than three points in their third attempt in the election result as a success, and sees being elected as the Prime Minister for the third time as a defeat is obvious... I want to ask the Congress party, has Rahul Gandhi insulted the Army by using the word surrender or not?" he said.
Meanwhile, Congress accused the BJP of projecting false bravado, claiming the party spent 11 years crafting a narrative of strength akin to a film titled "Mugaddar Ka Sikandar", only for it to end as "Narendra Ka surrender."
"BJP people were making a film for the last 11 years- 'Muqaddar Ka Sikandar' But when the film was ready, it turned out to be 'Narendra Ka Surrender'. Actually, there is no injection of bravery, but it is in the character of a person. The history of the BJP-RSS people has been one of cowardice. When such a person takes over the reins of the country, the future of the country comes in danger, which we are seeing at present," Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said.
"When the brave Indian Army had Pakistan on its knees, Trump called, and Narendra Modi surrendered. Trump said many times that we got the ceasefire done by threatening with trade, but Narendra Modi has not replied to Trump till date. He will not even answer, because the name is Narender, work is surrender - this is the reality and truth," he added.
