Encounter Underway Between Terrorists and Security Forces in J&K’s Shopian
The encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir occurs while security forces conduct a joint operation in Keller's forests.

According to the Indian Army, three terrorists were killed in an encounter that began in the forests of Keller after security forces set out to conduct operations in the area in Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Individuals aware of the situation have claimed that it is possible two to three terrorists are still in the forest.

Security forces have been engaged in combing operations throughout the forests of South Kashmir and Kistwar District since the terror attacks that occurred on April 22 in Pahalgam which left 26 people dead and injured others.
The operation began early in the morning on Tuesday, and it is not known whether the suspects currently holed up in the forests of Shopian were involved in the killings in Pahalgam.

In related news, posters were spotted in various areas of Pulwama district, claiming that ₹20 lakh will be rewarded for any information on the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack, and any information that leads to the arrest of those involved.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police had previously released sketches and identities of three terrorists involved in the terror incident in Pahalgam and have confirmed that the 3 terrorists are affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, and that the Police offered a ₹20 lakh bounty for all of the three terrorists.
