Encounter Erupts Between Security Forces and Terrorists: On Sunday night, an encounter erupted between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, according to officials.
Suspected movement of some unidentified persons in Sanyal village of Indo-Pak border in Hiranagar sector area of Kathua district led to the launching of a search operation in the area on Sunday evening.

According to the officials, reinforcements were sent to the area and further details are awaited.
Earlier in the day, some 'suspicious movement' was noticed in the general area of Sangla in Surankot, forcing security forces to launch a joint search operation, news agency ANI reported.
Under a joint army operation, the Romeo Forces collaborated with the Poonch police.
In another incident, the officials said that the discovery of a terrorist hideout in a forested remote area of the Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir led to recoveries, including a pistol and ammunition, on Sunday.
They said that the hideout was found during a joint search operation by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police and army units deployed in Bhalra forest area of Bhaderwah on Saturday.

The recovered things from the hideout included one pistol, three magazines, and six rounds of ammunition, along with 25 AK assault rifle rounds. They added that no arrest was made during the operation, which was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs following reports of suspicious movement.
On March 21, suspected terrorists hurled a grenade on a police vehicle in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a senior police officer, the grenade missed the target and exploded on the roadside without harming the cops.
The officer said that a special operations group (SOG) vehicle was on routine patrol and was en route to Thannamandi from Dera Ki Gali when suspected terrorists hurled the grenade around 8:30 pm.
