Emraan Hashmi On Getting Sick Of Serial Kisser Tag, 'Gave It To Myself As a Joke & Then It Blew Up'
Chehre actor Emraan Hashmi talks about getting the serial kisser tag and he got sick of it. He says that he wanted to do more as an actor.

Emraan Hashmi is busy with the promotions of his upcoming thriller, Chehre. The actor will star alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Krystle D'Souza and Rhea Chakraborty. Fans are excited to see the actor in another smashing thriller. But there was a time when everyone would call Emraan the' serial kisser' of Bollywood.
During the mid-2000s, Emraan Hashmi did many steamy romantic films, and he had kissed almost every actress in his films. While the audience loved his movies and the songs, the actor personally was not happy with the serial kisser tag. In an interview, Emraan has shared his thoughts about the same.
In an interaction with Bollywood Bubble, Emraan said, "For the first 10 years of my career, I was doing these films and I, unfortunately, have done it to myself. This tag was given to me by myself as a joke, and then it blew up, the media started talking about it, and that superseded everything -- there could be an article, there could be a film critic review... That overpowered everything, it became a priority. And you had a country that was obsessive about this; sexuality and portraying it on screen. Back then, when I started in 2003, it was this 'aha' moment to see a guy who's kissing all his heroines. That became a talking point."
Emraan Hashmi added that with time, he started getting sick of the kissing and serial kisser tag. Those films started giving him the 'been there done that' feeling, and he had reached a saturation point. Even though the films did well at the box office, the Chehre star wanted to do more as an actor. He said, "I am maturing as an actor, but I am forced to choose these scripts because this is what's working, and in our industry, we want Xerox copies of everything. But I'm not getting any creative fulfilment."
In the past few years, Emraan Hashmi films have been everything but about kissing. His unique films are Jannat, Mumbai Saga, Azhar, Ek Thi Dayan, Baadshaho, etc. Chehre will be another addition to the list. The film is all set to release on August 27 in cinema halls.
