Elon Musk’s X Faces Global Outage: Heh, Twitter is now known as X, and there has been quite a big shutdown that has left an apparent number of users unable to enjoy any of the available features in the application. The application is owned by Elon Musk and has drawn comparisons with similar shutdowns experienced by popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
In 2024, there was a big tech shutdown due to a technical glitch, and this caused a worldwide cloud outage. A botched software upgrade by security company CrowdStrike has caused what may be the biggest IT outage on record, affecting millions of Windows PCs across the globe. According to insurers, such downtimes are expected to cost Fortune 500 companies in the United States about USD 5.4 billion.

Such is what the current level has come to X, the erstwhile Twitter. The X outage reported by DownDetector, which monitors the operational status of internet services, peaked around 15:00 hours, continuing to affect clients. Many users have been found unable to access the platform, leading to widespread frustration and confusion.
"X, formerly Twitter, has gone down and is non-operational for some users of the microblogging platform. This is the case, as users cannot access features on the application," reported one user on the application.

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, bought X for a stunning USD 44 billion in 2022, after which significant changes and updates have been made in the platform. However, such an extensive outage has not been witnessed for quite a long time.
During the downtime, X stopped working completely and the users had to watch them unable to tweet or even open pages in the site. This has made them anxious waiting for updates on how soon the site would be restored. So far there has been no definite response from Elon Musk or any of the appropriate authorities.
