Electricity Bill Subsidy: This condition has to be fulfilled to take subsidy on electricity in Delhi, you will have to give missed call

Delhiites will soon be able to register by giving a missed call to opt for subsidy in electricity bill. The Delhi government is soon going to issue a phone number for this. In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia held an important meeting with senior officials of the Electricity Department, Power Distribution Companies (Discoms) and other related departments on Saturday.

Manish Sisodia said that the process of opting for power subsidy is being simplified. Consumers will be able to register by giving missed call or WhatsApp. Along with this, consumers will also have the facility to choose the subsidy option by filling the form sent with the electricity bill, scanning the QR code on the bill or visiting the DISCOM centre. At present 47,11,176 families are availing the benefit of electricity subsidy in Delhi. All consumers will be given the option to opt out of subsidy or get free electricity from October 1.

He said that the Chief Minister had announced that now electricity-subsidy will be available on option basis. Delhi government's free electricity scheme gets appreciation from all sections of the society. For the past several years, people have suggested that instead of providing subsidies to financially strong families, this money should be used for schools and hospitals. Keeping in view their demand, all consumers will be given the option to opt out of subsidy or get free electricity from October 1.
