Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will be the chief guest on Republic Day 2023
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met President Abdel Fattah during his visit to Egypt in October 2022. Then Abdel was invited by the Prime Minister to become a state guest. In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, it was said that there is a deep relationship between India and Egypt. Both the countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi will be the chief guest on the occasion of Republic Day in India next year. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed this. According to the information, an invitation was sent to Abdel Fattah on behalf of PM Narendra Modi, which he has accepted. This will be the first time that the President of Egypt will come to India as the chief guest on the occasion of Republic Day.

Due to Corona infection, no foreign guests could participate in the Republic Day celebrations of the last two years 2021 and 2022. Now after two years some foreign guests are coming to India to attend the Republic Day. India is going to host the G-20 Summit. India has invited non-member countries to the summit. Egypt is also included in these countries. Republic Day and G20 Summit, the President of Egypt will visit India twice in a year.
