ED Raids: ED's big action in Delhi liquor scam, raids on 40 locations across the country
The ED in Delhi is now probing the alleged liquor scam case from the angle of money laundering. In this case, the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) has made Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as accused number 1. Sisodia's premises were earlier raided by CBI E.
After the action of the CBI in the Delhi liquor scam case, now the ED has intensified its action. The agency has raided 40 locations across the country including Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai in connection with the matter. The agency has raided 25 places in Hyderabad itself.

In this case, the ED is also going to question Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain today. On Thursday itself, special CBI judge Geetanjali Goel had allowed Satyendra Jain to be interrogated. The court has ordered that Jain should be interrogated in Tihar Jail, where he is lodged. These inquiries are to be done on September 16, 22 and 23. Jain is currently in Tihar Jail in a money laundering case. Before that the agency has taken this big action.

Gitanjali Goel of the Special CBI Court at Rouse Avenue Court, while accepting the ED's application, allowed Jain to be interrogated inside the jail. The ED had sought three dates for questioning him in the liquor scam case. The CBI had last month registered a case against Manish Sisodia and the then Excise Commissioner, the then Deputy Excise Commissioner, the then Assistant Excise Commissioner and 10 liquor licensees for alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of Delhi's excise policy.
