Deepinder Goyal talks about how he met his Mexican wife: Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal revealed how he met his wife Grecia Munoz on an episode of The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show.
The audience was in for a treat as Kapil welcomed a star-studded panel which included Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, author Sudha Murthy, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and his wife Grecia Munoz.

Kapil asked Deepinder about the story of how he met Grecia. Smiling nostalgically, Deepinder revealed, “I was single for the longest time. My friends would often set me up on dates but always advised me not to get too serious. When Grecia first arrived in Delhi, a friend called me up, saying, ‘There’s a girl here you must meet.’ He even predicted, ‘You’ll end up marrying her.’ It was ironic because he was usually the one telling me not to settle down. I met her, and well, the rest is history.”
Kapil then turned to Grecia and asked her about her experience with Indian food. Grecia beamed, saying, “I love Indian food because of its variety.”
When co-host Archana Puran Singh asked her about her favourite dish, Grecia replied “Chole Bhature” in a flash. Sudha Murthy who had earlier joked that chole bhature is unhealthy, chuckled along with the audience.

Kapil quipped, “Look at that—she came all the way from Mexico and ended up loving chole bhature.” Sudha added, smiling, “And despite eating chole bhature, she’s still slim!”
The conversation soon moved to domestic life and Kapil asked Grecia if she has ever tried a traditional “first rasoi” (the first meal cooked by a bride).
Deepinder quickly interjected, “Cooking is banned at our home. We always order in.” The audience erupted in applause and laughter, a perfect one from the CEO of one of India’s top food delivery companies.
Deepinder shared insight about Zomato’s quirky app notifications, “Some of the romantic messages I send to Gia actually inspire the app's notifications,” he admitted with a laugh. “Our marketing team really ran with the idea of ‘building a relationship with the customer!’”
