Donald Trump Blames Indian Reporter’s ‘Accent’: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a participant in a joint press conference along with US President Donald Trump to mark his two-day visit to the USA. The event happened in the White House on Thursday. One of the event's moments has gone out on social media capturing what he does to avoid a question on anti-India activities in the US by blaming it on the reporter's "accent" and saying, "can't understand a word" that's being asked to him.
The American president was put in a spot when an Indian reporter asked about anti-India activities in front of PM Modi. He responded saying he couldn't quite hear the question. "You're gonna have to go louder..."

Again, when the reporter asked the question a second time, Trump spoke up: "I can’t understand a word he's saying," and added, "'It's the accent, it's a little bit tough for me."
“Not the first time”
Last week, he blew off yet another reporter at a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because of her accent.

“It’s a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent. The only problem is I can’t understand a word you’re saying. But, but I just say this— good luck, live in peace,” he said to the female reporter from Afghanistan.
The first meeting that flagged off the two-day-long US visit of PM Modi included a call on US NSA Michael Waltz on Thursday. Then it was up at Blair House in Washington, where the PM is being hosted, to meet with the world's wealthiest man, Elon Musk.

He met Elon Musk and his kids, including his son X. The pictures of the PM meeting the kid have already gone viral on social media. The PM also met Republican leader and Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
At the beginning, the two leaders embraced, followed by President Trump welcoming him at the doorway into the White House with a warm hug. "We missed you, we missed you a lot," Trump told PM Modi after the leaders exchanged greetings.
