Dominica to Award PM Narendra Modi with Highest National Honour: The Commonwealth of Dominica is all set to confer its highest award dominica award of honour on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the services rendered during the Covid pandemic to dominica and for working to elevate the relations between India and dominica.
The said award will be given by Sylvanie Burton, current President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, during the course of the India-CARICOM Summit, on the dates of 19-21 November 2024, in Georgetown, Guyana.

In February 2021, India sent in 1 00,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine. This particular consignment was part of the vaccine diplomacy strategy under which, India provided vaccines as well as medical assistance to the neighbouring Caribbean nations.
This honour signifies not just the ongoing relations between the two countries but also highlights the unwavering support extended from this s and is committed towards development including climate action under his regime and prime minister modis vision of climate resilient and sustainable development.

We look forward to building on this partnership and advancing our shared vision of progress and resilience,” statement from Dominica's Office of the Prime Minister said.
The statement further noted that responding to the award during the award ceremony, Prime minister Modi reiterated the importance of multilateralism in combatting transnational issues such as climate change and wars. He recalled the determination of India to work with Dominca and the Caribbean on this issue.
Her Excellency President, the Commonwealth of Dominica Sylvanie Burton, along with Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, will be present at the India-CARICOM Summit. It is an ideal platform to assess common concerns and identify new areas of engagement for India and the CARICOM countries.
