Meanwhile, the statement of Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav from this Lok Sabha seat has come to the fore. Dimple Yadav said that Mainpuri has been Netaji's workplace, from where Netaji is called the son of the earth. SP candidate Dimple Yadav attacked the BJP and said that the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has collapsed, but the government is not ready to accept this fact. Recently, a video of SP leader Dharmendra Yadav had surfaced, in which he is seen crying remembering former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav. Significantly, the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat fell vacant due to the demise of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. Voting for the by-election for this seat will be held on December 5. SP has fielded Mulayam's daughter-in-law and SP President Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav in the by-election. At the same time, BJP has made Raghuraj Shakya a candidate. Saifai, the ancestral village of Mulayam in Etawah, is a part of the Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency.
