DGCA issues alert against fake drone training Institutes in India
The aviation regulator of India has asked the general public to be careful about unauthorized Institutes offering fake courses

Have you been offered a training course in drone flying? Beware as the institute offering any such training might be an unrecognized one which can land you nowhere.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has issued a circular in which it has said that, according to the media reports, many fake and unauthorized drone training Institutes are operating in India which don't have the regulator's approval.
Such Institutes, known as Remote Pilot Training Institutes, are duping common people and running in violation of the existing norms. DGCA has asked common people not to get duped by such organizations.
At the same, the DGCA has also warned such organisations that action will be taken against them under the relevant statutory provisions.
Besides, the DGCA circular has also said that several NGOs, associations, Federations, Trusts and societies have come up that claim to be DGCA approved and ask drone startups to take membership against a fee.
DGCA has said that common public should be aware of such activities as it doesn't support it.
Of late, the Indian aviation regulator has liberalised its drone policy by making it more people friendly so that the technology can be leveraged for research and other public development related subjects.
However, some unscrupulous elements have taken its undue advantage and indulged into illegal activities by offering training in an unauthorized manner. After media reports about increase in such activities, DGCA decided to issue an alert in this regard.
