Rescue operations are underway to save lives on the third day of a ropeway accident at Trikut mountain in Deoghar, Jharkhand. 3 more people trapped in the last trolley have been rescued. While evacuating a woman, she fell down from the trolley. Her life has been saved because the safety belt was tied. An attempt was made to land the lady on the ground with the help of a rope. In the meantime, she again fell to the ground with a jolt. She has been admitted to the hospital. As of now, 37 people have been rescued while 10 are still stranded.
As per the sources, as of now, only one person is left on the trolley. The operation is going on for 6 hours for the third consecutive day. Air Force and ITBP personnel reached a height of 2500 feet by helicopter and rescued 12 trapped in three trolleys of the ropeway.
The rescue has been more tedious for the security personnel due to the height and strong wind. During the rescue, a jawan got hurt in his leg. Earlier, 45 people have been rescued in two days. Right now Chhathi Lal Sah and Shobha Devi are trapped in the trolley.
A day earlier, on Monday, the Army, Air Force, ITBP, and NDRF teams carried out a rescue operation for 12 hours. In this, 33 people were rescued with the help of three helicopters and ropes. During the rescue, a person died after falling down from the helicopter due to the breaking of the safety belt. The operation was called off due to darkness and fog. A total of three people have died so far. One has not been confirmed by the administration. 12 people had been injured.
So far, three helicopters of the Air Force have been engaged in this operation. Top officials are constantly camping on the spot. Some of the people who were rescued in this accident are undergoing treatment in the hospital. These include women and girls. Some of the injured have also been kept in the ICU.
