Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport becomes world's 10th busiest airport
In its research, aviation analytics company OAG said that the Delhi airport has improved from its 14th position in October 2019 to number 10th. The busiest airport in the world as of October 2022 is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with 47,47,367 seats.

According to the official airline guideline report, Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi is the 10th busiest airport in the world in terms of seat capacity and number of domestic and international flights. After two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the aviation industry had faced a steep decline. However, the industry is slowly getting back on track in 2022.

Dubai International ranks second with 41,27,704 seats, followed by Tokyo International Airport with 38,77,164 seats and Dallas Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport at 37,53,858. OAG's ranking has been released on the basis of comparison of airline capacity scheduled in October this year and October 2019. The top 10 busiest airports in the world are ranked based on their combined domestic and international capacity.
Hartsfield-Jackson's Atlanta International Airport has been the busiest airport in October. It is followed by Dubai and Tokyo Haneda Airport in second and third place respectively. London Heathrow Airport is ranked sixth in the report. It is followed by Chicago O'Hare International Airport at seventh and Los Angeles International Airport at ninth.
