As per the local reports, the situation is that till 1 pm, the air quality index was in the 400-500 range i.e. "severe" category in many areas of the national capital. The level of pollution is at its highest level since January, in some places in Delhi it is in the 500-500 range. PM 2.5 concentrations were above 400 micrograms per cubic meter in many areas at 11 a.m., which is almost seven times the safe limit of 60 micrograms per cubic meter.
The latest air quality forecast warns that the situation is only going to get worse. This gives a clear indication that the air quality will remain in the "very poor" category for at least a few days. Meanwhile, AAP workers today protested in front of the Lieutenant Governor's office in Delhi, claiming that they deliberately aimed to reduce pollution. His 'Red Light On, Gaadi Off' campaign was not approved. However, the LG hit back saying that the AAP "lied" about the launch date of the campaign.
Often, the Lieutenant Governor appointed by the central government is on the target of AAP, you are also accusing him of taking a "political vendetta" on the instructions of the central government. At 1 pm, the overall AQI of Delhi was 400, Faridabad 396, Greater Noida 395, Noida 390 and Ghaziabad 380.
