Delhi's air is very bad, air quality in the red zone category
An incident of stubble burning from Punjab-Haryana. Even though crackers have been banned by the court in Diwali, but people do not believe. Even now the air of Delhi has gone into the Red Zone.
What I feared happened. The air in the capital of Delhi was polluted before Diwali. Air quality changed to the red zone category. The sources of the Indian Meteorological Department have also confirmed this. The Delhi government has already declared war against pollution. Young volunteers are making people aware with the help of placards and pamphlets on all the red lights of Delhi.
According to SAFAR, the air quality forecasting agency of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, till November 6, two days after Diwali, up to 38 percent of Delhi's PM 2.5 pollution could be due to pollution caused by stubble burning. In Punjab and Haryana, the smoke arising from stubble burning comes towards Delhi-NCR due to north-westerly winds. It is expected to increase to 38 percent by November 6 as the wind direction is expected to change north-westwards after Diwali.
Gufran Baig, Founder Project Director, SAFAR, said the contribution of stubble burning to Delhi's air pollution so far this season has been low due to record rainfall in October and favorable wind direction. At the same time, recently the court has also completely banned firecrackers in Delhi. This has been done only for pollution.
