Delhi Weather Update: Yellow alert in Delhi-NCR, 2°C temperature even today

On January 1, 2021, the minimum temperature was recorded at 1.1 degree Celsius. On January 8 this year, it was recorded 1.9 degree Celsius. Cold wave conditions prevailed in Delhi and Safdarjung Observatory, the city's base station, recorded a minimum temperature of 2.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Monday's minimum temperature was recorded here at 1.4 degree Celsius.

Earlier on Monday, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded one degree below normal at 18.7 degree Celsius. Mayur Vihar recorded the lowest minimum of 16.4 degree Celsius. The humidity level in the air was 39 to 90 percent. Mahesh Palawat, vice-president of Skymet Weather, said the minimum temperature in Delhi could drop by one degree Celsius on Tuesday.
Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions very likely over many parts of Rajasthan, Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi till 18th and thereafter over isolated parts of East Rajasthan on 19th. During January 17 to 19, cold wave conditions may prevail in different parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. By the morning of January 17, there may be a further drop of about two degree Celsius in the minimum temperature in many areas. After this, during January 19 to 21, the temperature will increase by four to six degrees Celsius.
