The department has issued an orange alert. It will be chilly on coming Monday as well. After this, there is a possibility of getting some relief from the cold from Tuesday. Earlier, due to dense fog, the visibility near Palam airport was only 25 meters and 200 meters near Safdarjung at 5.30 am on Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, the ridge area of the capital recorded a minimum temperature of 1.5 degrees in the morning, while the average minimum temperature was 2.2 degrees, which was five degrees below normal. At the same time, it was recorded 1.7 and 2.2 degrees respectively in Narnaul and Hisar of Haryana. Flight and train operations were also affected due to the fog.
