This ban has been imposed in view of the increasing pollution in Delhi which will come into effect from January 1, 2022. Let us know all the rules and regulations related to it.
Due to the increasing pollution in Delhi, the license of all those diesel vehicles which are 10 years or 15 years old will be canceled. Along with this, the license of 15 years old petrol vehicles will also be cancelled. At the same time, a 2014 order of the NGT had also banned the parking of vehicles older than 15 years in any public place.
NOC will also be issued to the 10-year-old diesel vehicles and 15-year-old petrol vehicles whose licenses will be canceled so that they can be re-registered outside Delhi. If a diesel vehicle is 15 years old, even NOC will not be issued to it, it will have to be given in junk.
Delhi's Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that if 10-year-old diesel vehicles change their vehicle's engine to electric engine, then the license of those cars will not be cancelled.
