Delhi rains: Light Showers Trigger Travel Advisory at IGI Airport; Delhi AQI Remains ‘Satisfactory’

While there is no weather warning for today, the IMD has predicted very light rain or drizzle in Delhi for the day.
According to regional IMD Chandigarh, yellow alert has been issued in NCR region including Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari, Mewat and Palwal. Light to moderate rainfall with light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely at Yamunanagar, Gannaur (Haryana), Saharanpur, Gangoh, Deoband, Nazibabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Bijnaur, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda and Hastinapur.Also Read: Anushka Sharma Fans Adore Virat Kohli’s Cute Gesture When Asked About Her and the Kids
Delhi airport has asked passengers to plan their journey accordingly as weather is unpredictable. “Our on-ground teams are coordinating closely with all stakeholders to keep your travel smooth,” the airport said in its advisory. “Consider alternative transport options, including the Metro, to reach the airport safely.” The advisory came after rain and wind of 60 kmph disrupted traffic on Sunday. From 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, rain varied across the city: Safdarjung 10.1 mm, Pragati Maidan 13.6 mm, Pusa 10 mm and Janakpuri 0.5 mm. Over the last four days, Delhi’s monsoon rainfall gap has narrowed down significantly. From June 1 to July 12, the city has received 117.8 mm of rain, close to the seasonal average of 126.3 mm. South Delhi is the wettest part of the city and is in ‘large excess’ category. North and northwest Delhi is still in deficit.
