Delhi Pollution : Delhi-NCR's air is poisoned due to pollution, schools closed
The air quality index (AQI) in the city was recorded in the 'severe' category for the second consecutive day on Friday as a thick layer of smoke engulfed Delhi. The AQI was recorded at 445 at 2 pm primarily due to adverse weather conditions in Delhi and incidents of stubble burning in Punjab.

The air has become extremely polluted in NCR including the capital Delhi. Its level has reached poisonous. Hundreds of people are hospitalized. There has been an increase in the number of patients at the doctors. The Delhi government has closed all schools up to class V. Due to air pollution and poor air quality in Delhi, all primary classes have been closed till 8 November 2022. This decision has been taken by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi. A similar decision has been taken by the administration in NCR as well.

Schools cannot conduct outdoor assembly and sports activities until November 8. It states that all activities for students should be held in Indore and they should be encouraged to wear masks. The level of pollution in Delhi is very bad. Due to air pollution there is haze. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said in a press conference that from tomorrow, schools will remain closed for children of primary classes and outdoor activities will remain suspended for classes above fifth.
