Delhi News : Pragati Maidan tunnel opened from today, PM Modi inaugurated tunnel and underpass

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dedicated five underpasses, including the main tunnel of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project, to the nation. During this, PM Modi while addressing the gathering said that the Government of India is working continuously. Our International Convention and Expo Center is coming up in Dwarka in Delhi, while a redevelopment project at Pragati Maidan. 

Last year I had the opportunity to inaugurate four exhibition halls here and today the modern connectivity facility has been inaugurated. Modern constructions being done by the central government are changing the picture of the country's capital.

Delhi has received a very beautiful gift of modern infrastructure from the Central Government. It was not easy to prepare the Integrated Transit Corridor in such a short span of time. The roads around which this corridor is built is one of the busiest roads in Delhi.

This Integrated Transit Corridor is an integral part of the Pragati Maidan redevelopment project. The construction cost of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project, fully funded by the central government, is Rs 920 crore. Last year I also had the opportunity to inaugurate the Defense Complex. It is the misfortune of our country that many good things, things done with good purpose, get caught in the color of politics.

With the opening of this tunnel, the way of people going to India Gate via Meerut Expressway will become easier. With the opening of the six-lane Pragati Maidan tunnel, the movement of Ring Road and India Gate will be signal free. This part of the journey will be completed in barely five minutes instead of thirty minutes.
