Delhi-NCR Schools Revise Timings Amidst Heatwave and Scorching Increase in Temperature
Amidst the rise in the scorching heat, the schools of the NCR Region have been taking accurate measures to tackle the issues for their students
The scorching sun has been showing its wrath consistently in the National Capital, and in regard to that, the schools of the NCR Region have been taking accurate measures to tackle the issues for their students. In a recent development, the schools have revised the school timings, restricted the outdoor activities, and stocked ORS and Glucose Sachets in their Schools. The Schools are also stating the importance of Hydration to the students.
The temperature in Delhi rose to 46 degrees Celsius in recent days. The national capital also recorded its second hottest April in 72 years with a monthly average maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius. This has bound the schools to do something to ensure students are safe from it now that schools are operating in full swing.
Recently, The Odisha Government had too decided to revise the school timing amidst the rise in temperature. The government revised the school timings amid the ongoing spell of a heatwave in the state from 6:00 am to 9:00 am effective from the 2nd of May. Amid the scorching heat and prolonged power cuts across Punjab, the Punjab School Education Department has also decided to reschedule school timings. Primary schools in Punjab will open from 7 am to 11 am, whereas Middle/high/senior secondary schools will be open from 7 am to 12.30 pm. The Haryana Government, too has revised the school timings.
