Delhi Mayor Election: Delhi will get mayor today, BJP and AAP will try to capture the standing committee
The vehicle of councilors will get entry in the civic center of the corporation headquarters only through the authorized sticker. Also, as before, a screen has been installed on the ground floor of the Civic Center's A block for the workers.
After the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Delhi, the election of six members of the Standing Committee is also to be held today. This election is also important because while BJP has fielded three candidates for six posts, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP, AAP) has fielded four candidates. In such a situation, there are chances of cross-voting from both BJP and AAP in the event of election for the post of Mayor as well as Deputy Mayor and members of Standing Committee.
Sources claim that the leaders of both the parties are in touch with the corporators of each other's party and are also trying to get votes in favor of their candidate. If all the three candidates fielded by the BJP win in the elections to be held on Wednesday for the six members of the Standing Committee, the BJP will enter the fray to become the Chairman of the Standing Committee. Till now the standing committee was the reason behind the ongoing tussle regarding the holding of mayor elections.
The preparations of the Corporation for the meeting of the House again for the election of the Mayor have been completed. The House and the Civic Center are being decorated with flowers. The meeting will start at 11 am. The vehicle of councilors will get entry in the civic center of the corporation headquarters only through the authorized sticker. Also, as before, a screen has been installed on the ground floor of the Civic Center's A block for the workers.
The workers will be able to watch the live telecast of the proceedings of the House from here. The sitting of the House is scheduled on the fourth floor. Along with the Delhi Police, paramilitary forces will also be deployed here to control the uproar and any kind of situation. Adequate number of Civil Defense volunteers will be deployed inside the House as well.
