At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party has strongly opposed this decision of the Lieutenant Governor. AAP says that the decision to remove Jasmine Shah and Naveen Gupta is illegal and unconstitutional. Only an elected government can take such a decision. LG has made a mockery of all the orders of the Supreme Court and the Constitution.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has removed Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Jasmine Shah and AAP MP Narayan Das Gupta's son Naveen Gupta from the boards of power distribution companies. The LG alleged that these two people were helped to the tune of Rs 8,000 crore by illegally appointing them as government representatives on the boards of these companies and taking benefits in return. Now BSES Yamuna, BSES Rajdhani and North Delhi Power Distribution Corporation Limited will have Finance Secretary, Power Secretary and MD, Delhi Transco on the boards of Discoms.
The Lieutenant Governor has sent this matter to the President under Difference of Opinion and ordered the removal of two people belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party from the board with immediate effect. LG alleges that these two people, instead of being vigilant in the interest of the people of Delhi, were taking part in the decisions of the electricity distribution companies and were facilitating their decisions. AAP says that the decision to remove Jasmine Shah and Naveen Gupta is illegal and unconstitutional. Only an elected government can take such a decision.
