Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena (Lt Governor VK Saxena) will take legal action against the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). According to the Lt Governor's office, the CBI investigation found that only Rs 17.07 lakh has been deposited in the form of 500 and 1000 notes, not 22 lakh as claimed by the CVO.

According to the Lt Governor's office, this case was of Rs 17 lakh 7 thousand, whereas it was told by the AAP leaders to be of Rs 1400 crore. In this case, CBI has filed chargesheet against two accused Sanjeev Kumar Malik and Pradeep Yadav and the matter is in court.

AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said on the LG's threat of legal action, that there should be an independent inquiry into the matter. The way the matter was handled is against the principal of Natural Justice.

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh reached the CBI Head Quarter. A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs was already present at the CBI Head Quarter but the CBI officials did not give them an appointment. After this, Sanjay Singh has started a sit-in with the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs outside the CBI Head Quarter.

Significantly, on Monday, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Durgesh Pathak had alleged in the Delhi Assembly that Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, while being the chairman of Khadi Development and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in 2016, had forced his employees to exchange old notes worth Rs 1400 crore. was pressured.

The AAP MLAs had demanded a probe by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the matter and the resignation and arrest of Lt Governor Saxena. They also staged a protest near the Gandhi statue in the assembly complex carrying placards with slogans like "Lt Governor VK Saxena chor hai" and "Arrest VK Saxena".
