Delhi High Court notice to Shashi Tharoor on police appeal in Sunanda Pushkar death case
Senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, appearing for Tharoor, opposed the police application saying the appeal was filed within 15 months instead of 90 days as prescribed by the trial court's order. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma told Pahwa that he can present his arguments on the delay on the next date of hearing, February 7.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought response of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on a city police plea challenging his discharge in a case of abetment to suicide related to the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar in 2014.The court issued a second notice on an application to condone the delay by the police in filing an appeal against its August 2021 order acquitting Tharoor in the case. Senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, appearing for Tharoor, opposed the police application saying the appeal was filed within 15 months instead of 90 days as prescribed by the trial court's order. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma told Pahwa that he can present his arguments on the delay on the next date of hearing, February 7.
Justice Sharma, however, agreed to Pahwa's request to restrain both the parties from sharing documents related to the case with any other party. Pahwa said that the trial court had also passed a similar order.
The Delhi Police has appealed to the court to condone the delay in filing the application in the case. Please tell that in August 2021, the lower court had acquitted Tharoor in the case.
