Delhi HC gets 5-star, Hotel Ashoka as an exclusive Covid-19 care facility for staff

The government of Delhi has directed Hotel Ashoka, a five-star facility to turn 100 of its rooms into Covid-19 care centres, with preference granted to Delhi high court judges and other judicial officers, along with their members of family.
Primus Hospital will control the functioning of the Covid care centre at the five-star hotel in Chanakyapuri.
Geeta Grover, the Chanakyapuri Sub-Divisional Magistrate, issued an order on Sunday to this effect, while acting on a request by the Delhi High Court.
The Order by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate read as, “A request has been received from Delhi High Court for setting up of CHC facility for the Hon’ble Justices and other judicial officers of Delhi High Court and their families. Now, therefore, I, Geeta Grover… in exercise of powers…and in overall imminent public interest, do hereby require the 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi for setting up of Covid Health facility for the use of Hon’ble Justices and other judicial officers of Delhi High Court and their families and place at the disposal of Primus Hospital, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi with immediate effect.”
The hospital would accept the charges for using the facilities and then compensate the hotel for the lodging, meals, housekeeping, disinfection, and the other facilities used by the patients.
Protective gear and basic training will be given to hotel workers. The hotel will provide all facilities for the patients, including lodging, housekeeping, disinfection, and food.
Upon negotiating prices with the hotel, Primus Hospital can even house their physicians, nurses, and other paramedical personnel at the hotel on its own dime.
The facility is said to become completely operational by the end of the week forthe Delhi High Court staff and their families.
