Delhi government approved Chhath Puja at 1100 ghats, released Rs 25 crore for better facilities
Arvind Kejriwal said, "In the last two years due to the corona epidemic, this festival was not celebrated in public. Since the formation of our government in the year 2014, the celebration of Chhath Puja has become big. Before we came to power, the government used to allocate a fund of Rs 2.5 crore for preparations at 69 ghats of Delhi, but now this budget has increased to Rs 25 crore and now Chhath Puja will be celebrated at 1100 ghats in Delhi.

This time the Delhi government has given permission to perform Chhath at 1100 ghats. Delhiites can gather at these ghats for Chhath Puja. Along with this, the government has also approved a budget of Rs 25 crore for adequate facilities at the ghats. This year Chhath Puja will be celebrated on 30th and 31st October. Along with India, this festival is celebrated in every part of the world but it has some special significance in Purvanchal UP, Bihar and Jharkhand. Delhi's Revenue Minister Kailash Gehlot held a meeting on Tuesday in which preparations for the celebration of Chhath Puja were discussed. Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha, Divisional Commissioner and all District Magistrates of Delhi participated in this meeting.
People of UP-Bihar live in large numbers in Delhi. In view of this, the Kejriwal government has released Rs 25 crore for the arrangements for Chhath so that there is no inconvenience to the devotees performing Chhath. He directed the officers to ensure smooth management and operation of all the 1100 ghats. The Delhi government has made preparations to provide toilets, changing rooms, ambulances, power backup facilities at these ghats. Kejriwal said that the Delhi government is also working to install CCTVs at different places on the Ghats for security.
