Regarding allegations of additions and deletions in the lists of voters, CEC said, "due process was followed rigorously," and there was no room for any manipulation.
"Political parties were involved at each and every stage of voter list preparation with full disclosure and opportunity to object," he claimed.
The CEC further claimed that it was "impossible" to make any changes to the voter turnout data, and thus the claims regarding the sudden jump in the poll percentage after 5 pm are misguided.
"Impossible to change voter turnout data, misconceived narrative being spread on increase in voting after 5 pm," he said.
He also stated that new records for the turnout of voters were set this year.
"We have created new records of voting, women participation; we will soon have a new record of one billion-plus voters," Kumar said.

The tenure of the 70-member Assembly ends on February 23. Traditionally, Delhi holds assembly polls in a single phase.
The ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) is in the bid for a third consecutive term in power. The AAP is headed by Arvind Kejriwal, the former chief minister, while the BJP, which did quite well in the Lok Sabha elections, is all geared to nab the capital city in the upcoming elections.
On the other side is the Congress. It is contesting alone in the elections soon to be conducted, and throws its gloves into the ring with both BJP and AAP, who are alliance partners in the Lok Sabha polls.
