Defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final of the Australian Open

Rafael Nadal has made history. The 35-year-old Spanish tennis player defeated 25-year-old Russian star Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 in a five-set fight in the final of the Australian Open. This is the second Australian Open title of Nadal's career and the 21st Grand Slam title overall. The final match lasted for 5 hours and 24 minutes.

Nadal also became the man to win the most men's singles titles in the Grand Slam's 145-year history. He surpassed Roger Federer of Switzerland and Novak Djokovic of Serbia. Both of them have 20-20 Grand Slam titles to their names.

Nadal has won the Australian Open for the second time since 2009. In 2009, Nadal defeated Roger Federer in the final. That final match also lasted for five sets. However, after that Nadal had to face defeat in the final of this tournament four times. Finally, after 13 years of waiting, Rafael Nadal was able to win the Australian Open again.

After the defeat in the first two sets, Rafael made a strong comeback and won two consecutive sets to take the match to the final set. Nadal won the third and fourth sets 6-4. Even in the final set, Medvedev did not give up and fought hard against Nadal, but in the end the victory was once again at the hands of Rafael Nadal. He won the 21st Grand Slam of his career by winning the last set 7-5.
