Rafael Nadal has made history. The 35-year-old Spanish tennis player defeated 25-year-old Russian star Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 in a five-set fight in the final of the Australian Open. This is the second Australian Open title of Nadal's career and the 21st Grand Slam title overall. The final match lasted for 5 hours and 24 minutes.

After the defeat in the first two sets, Rafael made a strong comeback and won two consecutive sets to take the match to the final set. Nadal won the third and fourth sets 6-4. Even in the final set, Medvedev did not give up and fought hard against Nadal, but in the end the victory was once again at the hands of Rafael Nadal. He won the 21st Grand Slam of his career by winning the last set 7-5.
