Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreams to develop Ayodhaya city as "Vedic Ramayana City" and the most beautiful city in the world.
While inaugurating Deepotsav 2020 (festival of lights), Yogi said that many generations were waiting to see the construction of Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya and this has been made possible only because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts and initiatives.
He said that in the previous years, whenever he used to come to Ayodhya and stand there to speak on development issues, “our saints and bhakts used to tell me not to talk on development issues but construct the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This is the only thing I used to hear from everyone.”
He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and said that the PM came to Ayodhya during the Covid-19 pandemic, followed all protocols, and laid the foundation stone of the construction work of the Ram Temple.
According to the UP CM, the Prime Minister has made many sacrifices for the country and he always says that work should be done in such a way that it should inspire others.
Deepotsav is celebrated at the Ram ki Paidi in Ayodhya and it was started by the Yogi government in 2017. This is the fourth such festival and this time 5.51 lakh earthen lamps would be lit at Ram ki Paidi ghats.
It coincides with the festival of Diwali to mark the Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile.
Yogi said that since independence the county had been waiting to see the construction of the Ram Temple and this has been made possible by the Modi government.
He said that the whole country dreamt of Ram Rajya where people will not be divided on the basis of religion, caste, creed, etc and this is for the first time after 2014 that the country experienced that all the development work has been done on the basis of the need of villagers and farmers.
No one is being discriminated against on the ground of religion, caste, creed, etc, he said.
