Cyclone Asani : Warning of heavy rain in these states, many flights canceled

Cyclone Asani updates will show its effect in the coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha today. According to the Meteorological Department, gusty winds with a speed of 90 to 125 kmph can occur in the sea areas of Bengal and Odisha. During this, it will also rain at many places.
Meanwhile, 23 flights taking off and landing from Visakhapatnam Airport in Andhra Pradesh have been canceled on Tuesday due to bad weather. At the same time, Chennai Airport has also canceled 10 flights. These include flights to Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Mumbai.
Meteorological Center Bhubaneswar said that cyclonic storm Asani moved in west-northwest direction with a speed of 5 kmph during the last 6 hours. It is currently about 590 km south-west of Puri and about 510 km south-west of Gopalpur, Odisha.
Cyclone Asani will continue to move in northwest direction till the night of May 10. Thereafter, it will turn northeastwards from Odisha coast towards northwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely to weaken in the next 24 hours.
