So far, 12 states have announced restrictions ahead of Christmas and New Year's, in view of the threat of the new Omicron variant. Taking strictness, states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana have implemented night curfew. Night curfew is already in force in Rajasthan.
Night curfew has not been imposed in Maharashtra, but there too by imposing section 144, gathering of more than 5 people at one place has been banned. Christmas and New Year celebrations have been banned in Delhi, Karnataka, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. A village in Telangana has imposed a 10-day lockdown on its own in view of the threat of Omicron.
Night curfew has been imposed again in the state after 37 days on Thursday. There will be strictness on movement in the state from 11 pm to 5 am. The government has said that only people above 18 years of age who have taken both doses of the vaccine in gym, coaching, theatre, cinema hall, swimming pool will get entry.
