After a break of almost eight months, West Bengal has taken the initiative to bring cricket back on the field in India. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has started Bengal T20 Challenge on November 24.
After a break of almost eight months, West Bengal has taken the initiative to bring cricket back on the field in India. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has started Bengal T20 Challenge on November 24.
The last match, that was played in India was on March 3 at the Eden Garden itself. It was a semi-final match for Ranji Trophy between two states, West Bengal and Karnataka.
After that, all sports activities were suspended due to the spread of Corona virus as large gatherings could help spread the virus.
A complete lock-down was imposed From March 24 and holding cricket like all other sports events were prohibited.
Due to the restrictions, IPL T20 was held in Dubai.
Bengal T20 Challenge will witness 30 matches with six teams in the competition. These matches are being held with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol. All the players will take measures to respect all the norms of Covid.
Cricket fans are excited to see the opening match between Mohun Bagan and Customs. In the next match, Town Club will take on Kalighat.The other two teams, East Bengal and Tapan Memorial, will also play the coming matches. Bengal T20 Challenge is very popular among cricket lovers.
Cricket players are also excited to play on the home ground after a long break.
