Covid-19 cases on the rise in Noida, district administration sounds alert

Gautam Buddha Nagar, also known as Noida, shares its border with Delhi and it comes under the NCR region.
Thousands of people visit Delhi from here for business or work-related activities. Post unlocking, people have increased their business activities and more physical interactions have resulted in the spread of infections to other new areas.
District Monitoring Officer Sunil Dohra said that till Friday morning 99 more patients were found infected with Covid-19.
During the last 24 hours, 149 patients were discharged after treatment. 1,047 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the city.
Dohra said that so far 22,040 patients have been cured in the district. A total of 23,170 cases of Covid-19 infection have occurred and 83 people have died.
A total of 5,19,689 samples were tested.
District Monitoring Officer also said that in view of the increasing prevalence of Covid-19 in the district, the number of 'Containment Zone' has been increased.
250 Containment Zones have been set up in the first category and 16 in the second category.
He said that the percentage of recovery of patients infected with Covid-19 in the district is 94.6, while five percent of the cases are under treatment.
Experts say that people should take precautions and maintain Covid-19 protocol such as wearing a mask, maintaining physical distance, and hand hygiene till the time vaccine is available.
