The Center has instructed the states and union territories to keep sending samples in sufficient quantity so that new corona variants can be detected in time. It has been said in the letter that a new wave of corona is being seen in some countries across Southeast Asia and Europe. For this reason, the Health Minister held a high-level meeting on March 16, in which it was suggested that all the states and union territories should work vigorously on genome sequencing, as well as keep a close watch on the situation of Covid-19.
