AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria was also present along with the Health Minister in the review meeting held today whose tenure has been extended for 3 months today.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, along with the country's scientists, doctors and secretary, today took an update on the cases of the country and around the world on the matter of corona virus.
After looking at the global data, the Health Minister has given instructions that the genome sequencing of corona virus cases in the country should be increased. Also, monitoring should be intensified in such districts from where more cases are being reported. At present, the highest number of cases of corona virus in India are coming from Maharashtra.
The total number of corona virus patients in India is currently 83,990. 13,313 cases have been reported on Thursday. For the last 1 month, the cases of corona virus are running above 10,000 whereas earlier these cases had come down significantly. Although it is not being considered as the fourth wave of corona virus, but the government's concern about curbing the increasing cases is clearly visible.
Apart from this, the Principal Scientific Adviser of the Government Dr Ajay Sood, AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Director of NCDC i.e. Department of Infectious Diseases Dr Sujit Singh and Head of Corona Virus Vaccine Task Force Dr NK Arora were also present in the meeting.
